Maldini set for Cagliari loan move

Daniel Maldini is heading to Cagliari. The Atalanta midfielder will join the Sardinian club on loan, according to Fabrizio Romano. Cagliari are set to receive an option to buy the player. If they turn the move into a permanent deal, the total package could be worth around €9 million. The agreement also includes a mandatory purchase clause, which would only be triggered under certain conditions, such as the number of appearances the 24-year-old makes for his new side. Maldini spent the second half of the 2025/26 season with Lazio, making 14 appearances in all competitions and contributing two goals and two assists. He joined Atalanta in 2025 after previous spells with Monza and Milan.
