Man City brush off Barcelona's €45m Rodri bid, want €80m

0
Barcelona have made a formal move for Rodri, but Manchester City are holding out for a much bigger fee. The Catalan club have submitted an offer for the 30-year-old Spanish midfielder worth around €45m plus add-ons. City, however, see their key player as an €80m asset and have made it clear they will not engage seriously until a bid comes much closer to that valuation. Rodri's contract with City runs through the summer of 2027, yet the player has shown no real desire to sign a new deal. That uncertainty has given Barcelona encouragement, though a breakthrough still looks unlikely without a significant increase in their offer. The Spain international is currently working his way back after planned back surgery. He helped Spain win gold at the 2026 World Cup and is expected to return to full training by the end of August.
