Aston Villa target Milan's Estupiñán as Emery eyes Villarreal reunion

0
Aston Villa are still pushing to bring Milan defender Pervis Estupiñán to the Premier League. According to Inside Futbol, the Italian club are open to offers for the 28-year-old Ecuadorian. Unai Emery knows the player well from their shared time at Villarreal and is keen to work with him again. The Villa boss views Estupiñán as a potential upgrade at the back. Negotiations had been paused while new Milan coach Ruben Amorim took time to judge the defender during preseason. Now, per the source, the club are ready to let him go. Estupiñán joined Milan from Brighton last summer for €17m but never locked down a regular starting spot. Villa are also exploring other defensive options, holding talks with Atletico over defender Matteo Ruggeri.
