Real Sociedad captain Mikel Oyarzabal attracted interest from other clubs during the summer transfer window but ended up staying at San Sebastian. As reported by Mundo Deportivo, the interest in the 29-year-old attacker did not turn into specific offers, since the footballer himself did not consider the possibility of leaving Real Sociedad. The Basque club's sporting director Eric Bretos said it was Oyarzabal's desire to stay at the team that effectively ended any talk of a possible transfer: "If he was available on the market, he could have a thousand offers." Thus, the Basques managed to keep the key players of the team. Even before the start of the transfer window, the club prioritized the preservation of its leaders and did not plan to sell important performers.
