UEFA has officially issued disciplinary decisions following the scandalous return match of the Champions League qualification playoffs between Lyon and Fenerbahce, which took place on August 26.
Fenerbahce midfielder Matteo Genduzi has been disqualified for four matches of club tournaments under the organization's auspices. The Frenchman was also fined 50,000 euros for insulting people in the stadium, provoking spectators and violating basic rules of conduct.
At the same time, two of the four matches of Genduzi's suspension are of a conditional nature with a probationary period of one year.
Fenerbahce winger Mason Greenwood was also punished. The Englishman was fined 30 thousand euros and disqualified for one match for violating the basic rules of proper behavior. His suspension is also conditional with a probationary period of one year.
In addition, Fenerbahçe was fined 95,000 euros for the use of pyrotechnics, disturbances in the stands and inappropriate behavior of the team. Lyon received fines totaling 108.5 thousand euros.
Separately, UEFA punished the goalkeeper coach of Lyon, Antonio Ferreira, who was disqualified for five matches of the European Cups for a serious attack. The two matches of this suspension are also conditional with a probationary period of one year.
