Van Leeuwen: Kryvbas lacked experience at the crucial moment of the match against Kolos

Kryvbas drew with Kolos — 2:2. The Kryvyi Rih team was leading 2:1, but conceded a decisive goal already in stoppage time, and at that time the hosts played in the majority. After the match, Patrick van Leeuwen noted that his team had a quality first half, but made mistakes in key episodes. "I think we had a good first half. We tried to get into the game straight away, we scored a goal, but at the same time we conceded after an episode of handball. In my opinion, that goal should not have been scored. I don't understand why we need VAR if they don't notice an obvious foul in such moments. With the score 1:1, we scored the second goal, but then everyone saw how the opponent made a long pass at the end of the game. Our two central defenders were not ready enough to win this one-on-one fight, and the goalkeeper also needed to react better. I think these three footballers should analyze this episode in detail, because it was because of it that we lost the victory at the last minute," said the Dutch expert. The coach of Kryvbas also emphasized that the team needs to increase its actions in the last minutes of the matches and gain the necessary experience. "We lack experience, and especially in the decisive moments. When we are leading and the last minutes remain, we need to act more maturely and pragmatically. Such experience only comes with matches. I hope we will draw the right conclusions from this game," concluded van Leeuwen. After five UPL rounds, Kryvbas is in ninth place in the standings, with five points to its credit. The team from Kryvyi Rih will play its next match on September 8 in the Cup of Ukraine, where it will meet Olympia from Savyntsi.
