Amorim after the draw with Juventus: We didn't deserve to win

Milan head coach Ruben Amorim commented on the draw with Juventus (1:1) in the match of the third round of Serie A. The Rossoneri lost the victory in stoppage time, conceding at the end of the match. The Portuguese specialist believes that the final result corresponds to the course of the match. "We didn't deserve to win and Juventus didn't deserve to lose. We tried to bend our line, but we didn't do too well with the ball. There were moments when we controlled the game in the first half, but then when we started losing a lot of goals, we had to be patient. I don't think we played the best game, but we've only been working together for two months. We won one point. Of course we have to do better, but we need time. It was a difficult match," Amorim said. The coach also drew attention to the team's problems in the basic components of the game. "We have individual quality, but today we lacked the simple things. In football, the simple things are the best. Even in the way we receive and pass the ball: we have to do the simple things perfectly. We did not perform well in the basic components. My feeling is that when our team doesn't have the ball often, we struggle. However, the main thing is to fight to the end in every game: today we could have won, but, I repeat, Juventus did not deserve to lose," added the Portuguese. Amorim noted that Milan continue to rebuild the game and gradually adapt to the new style. According to him, the team is already showing some progress, but it will take time for full improvement. The Portuguese specialist led the Milanese club in the offseason. Under his leadership, the Rossoneri played three matches, winning two and drawing one.
