Wijnaldum spent the last three seasons in Al-Ittifaq, after which he received the status of a free agent and continued his career in another club of the Saudi Arabian championship. According to GiveMeSport, the midfielder signed a one-year contract with Al Ittihad. The deal also includes an option to extend it for another season.
