Ponomaryov: Dynamo is second only to Shakhtar in terms of quality of football players

The day before Cherkasy LNZ played a draw against Kyiv Dynamo in the fifth round of the Ukrainian Premier League. After the end of the game, the head coach of "Lilacs" Vitaly Ponomaryev commented on the performance of his own team. "Today there is a lot of criticism towards Dynamo, ours too, of course, although I am convinced that Dynamo Kyiv is second only to Shakhtar Donetsk in terms of quality of players. This is a good team, you cannot underestimate it. I believe that this is more of a positive result than a negative one for us today. We have had bad matches, if we win points against such opponents, it will add confidence to the team, which is very necessary now. The fact that we were a pale shadow in attack today is the merit of Dynamo, most likely. We prepared seriously for that match, but we couldn't offer a counter-play, especially in the first half. Today was difficult, Dynamo dominated. We must, after all those moments, work further to improve our situation. We try to choose the team that is stronger at the moment as the coaching staff. In the last championship, Ledvii started as the main goalkeeper, made mistakes, we trusted Oleksiy Palamarchuk - it so happened that Oleksiy played the whole season, more than 20 dry matches on his account. We have good backups: both Ledvii and Samoilenko. The previous matches started to trust Dmytro and today he really became the best player of the match," said the Ukrainian specialist. In the next round, Cherkasy LNZ will play at home against Obolon of Kyiv.
