Harry Kane has commented on his chances of winning the Ballon d'Or in 2026. The Bayern striker said that he did his best on the football field, and now the result will depend on the voters.
"Of course, it's out of my hands now. Everything depends on the voters and the people who make this decision. The season I had was definitely the best of my career, so we just have to wait," Kane said in an interview with TNT Sports.
Last season, the Englishman showed a phenomenal performance — Kane scored 73 goals for club and country. According to this indicator, he was surpassed only by Lionel Messi, who scored 82 times in the 2011/12 season.
At the same time, the forward himself does not hide his joy at being among the main contenders for the most prestigious individual award in football.
"I'm happy to be among the contenders. So we'll just have to wait and see what happens," Kane added.
If Kane wins, he will become only the fifth Englishman in history to win the Ballon d'Or and the first England representative since Michael Owen, who won the award in 2001.
