Kofane will extend his contract with Bayer

0
Bayer Leverkusen is close to extending the contract of striker Christian Kofane. The new agreement with the 20-year-old Cameroonian will run until the summer of 2031. According to Bild, negotiations between the club and the football player's representatives are at an advanced stage. Kofane's current contract runs until 2029, and after signing a new deal, his salary will be around four million euros per year. Cofane joined Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2025 from Spanish side Albacete for €5.25 million. Initially, the club planned to give the forward on loan, but his performances at the pre-season meetings convinced the management to keep the player in the team. In his debut season for Bayer, Kofane made 44 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists. The striker's progress has attracted the attention of a number of Premier League clubs. Arsenal, Aston Villa, Everton and Newcastle were interested in his transfer, and the last three clubs were ready to offer around 50 million euros. Kofane rejected these options. Bayer is counting on the further development of the footballer and already estimates his potential transfer value at 100 million euros.
