Barcelona recorded a loss of 18 million euros at the end of the 2025/26 season, despite a record revenue of more than a billion euros.
According to AS, the Catalan club generated €1.06 billion in revenue, but ended the financial year with a loss for the third season in a row. The financial statements must be approved by the club members at the general meeting on September 19.
In Barcelona, it is noted that the regular activities of the club remain profitable, but extraordinary expenses continue to have a negative impact on the final financial result.
One of the main concerns remains Barça Productions, the subsidiary responsible for the creation, distribution and commercialization of the club's audiovisual, digital and entertainment content. According to the results of the last financial year, Barcelona was forced to reduce the value of this asset by another 23 million euros - to 116 million.
Back in the 2023/24 season, the auditor required the club to create a reserve of 141 million euros to repay the debt owed to the investors of the media company, which was then called Barça Vision. At that time, Barcelona valued the asset at 408 million euros.
In the next season, the club wrote off another 90 million euros, after which the value of Barcelona's share in the company was 178 million. Currently, the Catalans own 63% of Barça Productions.
The situation can be corrected by increasing the value of the company or attracting new investors. At the same time, the latter scenario is currently considered unlikely, so Barcelona will probably have to continue to gradually reduce the value of the asset.
