Mitoma could leave Brighton in the winter

0
Kaoru Mitoma is currently not inclined to extend his contract with Brighton, due to which the English club may face the need to sell the player already during the winter transfer window. This is reported by TEAMtalk. Negotiations regarding a new agreement with the Japanese winger have come to an impasse. Mitoma himself is not yet ready to make a long-term commitment, as he has interest from other clubs. The 29-year-old footballer's current contract with Brighton runs until June 2027. If the parties do not agree on a contract extension, the club risks losing one of its key players for free next summer. Mitoma has been with Brighton since 2022 after a season on loan at Belgian side Union Saint-Giloise. In October 2023, he signed a new four-year contract with the club, which runs until the summer of 2027. For the entire time, the player played 135 matches in the English club, scored 27 goals and provided 21 assists in all competitions.
