Yarmolenko: I had no doubt that the goals would come

After the match between Dynamo and Epicenter, striker of the Kyiv team Andriy Yarmolenko commented on his team's victory and talked about his personal achievement. It was the 36-year-old winger who opened the scoring in the meeting, scoring in the 42nd minute. This goal was Yarmolenko's 124th in the championships of Ukraine, thanks to which he repeated the record of Maksym Shatbroadcasteri and now shares the first place in the historical rating of UPL scorers. However, the football player himself did not pay special attention to personal achievement. According to Yarmolenko, a team victory is much more important to him, because Dynamo had previously lost points in the championship. "I'm happy because the team finally won. We played to zero, so I'm happy about that. And the fact that the goals will come, I had no doubt about it. The most important thing is not to give up, not to lower your head," Yarmolenko said. The winger also recalled the previous match against LNZ, in which the Kyiv team failed to score despite a large number of chances. In particular, Yarmolenko himself then did not hit the empty net from close range. "Because there were enough moments in the previous game against LNZ, I don't know how it was possible not to score there, when I didn't hit an empty net from a meter," the football player added. After the victory over Epicenter, Dynamo scored 10 points and occupies the fourth place in the UPL standings. Now Yarmolenko has a chance to become the single best scorer in the history of the championship of Ukraine if he scores the next goal.
