Enrique: The Ballon d'Or should go to a PSG player - it doesn't matter who

The head coach of PSG, Luis Enrique, believes that the Ballon d'Or should go to one of the players of the French club this year. The list of 30 contenders for the prestigious individual award includes ten representatives of PSG: Ousmane Dembele, Achraf Hakimi, Hvica Kvaratzhelia, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, Joao Neves, Villan Pacho, Fabian Ruiz, Ferran Torres and Vitinho. Enrique positively evaluated such representation of the team, but separately noted the absence of Desiree Doue, who did not make the final list. "We are very happy that we have 10 players in the top 30 in the world. If we had the chance to decide, we would also like to see Desiree Douy there. Why is he not there? We are committed to protecting all our players. We think we deserve to win this trophy. Our philosophy is to protect all football players and we always try to do that. And who will win the Ballon d'Or? We hope it will be a PSG player, it doesn't matter who," Enrique said. The 2026 Ballon d'Or award ceremony will take place on October 26, 2026.
