Muravbroadcasteri about the dismissal in the game with Shakhtar: I had no intention of hitting the opponent

Defender and captain of LNZ Nazarii Muravbroadcasteri commented on his removal in the UPL match against Shakhtar Donetsk (0:3). "I would like to comment on yesterday's episode and clarify the situation a little. Our team had a standard at the Shakhtar gate. With my head down, I went to take my position and thought about how I would act during the serve. At this moment, an opponent's player runs up to me from the side, comes into close contact with me and starts holding me with his hands. The whole episode happened very quickly. The player was on my side, I did not turn my head in his direction and actually did not see him. In the slow motion video, you can see that at first I try to just break free from the contact, but I fail as he reaches out to me again. In the next moment, I try to push his hand away with a sharper movement, and this action is followed by an elbow, with which, without calculating the amplitude, I hit my opponent in the face. Immediately after the episode, I raised my hand to show that it was an accident and immediately apologized to my opponent. I do not absolve myself of responsibility. There was contact with an elbow to the face, this is a red card, and I understand it perfectly. But it is important for me to clarify the main thing: I had no intention of hitting my opponent! I've never had an episode like that in my whole career and I think that also speaks to what happened, not a reflection of how I behave on the football pitch. This was NOT an act of aggression or wanting to prove something to someone. It was an unfortunate moment in the fight for position, which unfortunately ended with such a hit. I personally want to apologize to the fans of LNZ. And especially in front of the people who came to Lviv to support us. I am really sorry that I left the team in the minority in such an important match. Thank you for your support and for being by our side," Muravbroadcasteri wrote on his Instagram.
