Chelsea plans to strengthen the midfield in the winter

Chelsea may turn to the transfer market as early as the winter to strengthen the central area. The London club still could not form a stable pair in the center of the field, which became one of the team's problems at the start of the season. According to insider sources, the situation in the midfield causes concern after the summer transfer window. Chelsea have lost Enzo Fernandez and Andrey Santos, whose transfers could bring the club up to £175m in total. At the same time, Dario Essugo went on loan to Strasbourg. The problems were compounded by injuries to Moises Caicedo and rookie Jordan Henderson. Romeo Lavia and Rhys James had additional health problems — both started three of the team's five matches, but their interaction in the center of the field is still unconvincing. Xabi Alonso has already experimented with different combinations of football players. In particular, Malo Giusto was used next to Lavia, while Valentin Barko started in the middle with Henderson. However, the coach has not yet found the optimal solution. Caicedo's return should add options to the team in midfield. At the same time, Chelsea already tried to sign Lamin Camara from Monaco, but this transfer fell through at the last moment.
