Levy received 27 million pounds after leaving Tottenham

Daniel Levy received £27m after stepping down as Tottenham chief executive in September 2025. The official left the club after 24 years of work in a managerial position.
According to insider sources, the amount of the payment was formed from his salary, annual bonus and funds under the long-term motivation program. Sources of the publication, familiar with the terms of the contract, note that it is about the club fulfilling its contractual obligations in case of early termination of cooperation, and not about a separate compensation agreement.
The £27m payout was one of the biggest in football manager history. Levy did not receive additional compensation for his dismissal.
After his departure, Peter Charrington, who represents the interests of the Lewis family on the club's board of directors, took over as Tottenham's non-executive chairman. In the summer of 2025, the leadership of the Londoners also carried out large-scale changes in the team structure and significantly increased investment in transfers.
Despite his sacking, Levy retains a significant ownership stake in Tottenham through family trusts. According to the club, the Levy family is a potential beneficiary of trusts that own 27.38 percent of the share capital of ENIC, the company that controls 88.30 percent of Tottenham Hotspur Limited.
Levy's stake in Tottenham is thus currently just over 24 percent. It used to be close to 26 percent, but has declined since the stake was diluted during the summer raising of additional capital.
In August, Levy also passed up an opportunity to participate in a £100 million capital injection for the club. In June, Eight Sports Capital announced an agreement to acquire 24.99 percent of ENIC in Levy, but there has been no official confirmation of the completion of this deal until now.
