Liverpool may try to sign Chuameni

Julian Ward could try again to sign Aurelien Chuameni after returning as Liverpool sporting director. According to Football Insider, the Englishman is a big fan of the French midfielder. Ward already tried to bring Chuameni to Liverpool in 2022 when he was playing for Monaco. However, then the Frenchman chose to move to Real Madrid. Now, with Ward's return to a leadership role in Liverpool's transfer policy, interest in the 26-year-old midfielder could be renewed. The Merseysiders continue to look for midfield reinforcements and Tchuameni remains one of the players the club are interested in. At the same time, it will not be easy to arrange a transfer. Chuameni recently extended his contract with Real until 2031, so there is no obvious reason for the Madrid club to part with the Frenchman. Ward officially returned as Liverpool's sporting director on 26 September following the departure of Richard Hughes. Previously, he already worked in this position in the 2022/23 season.
