Bradley Barcola gives Liverpool verbal green light as PSG demand €170m
1
Bradley Barcola has reportedly told Liverpool he is ready to join, handing the Premier League side a major boost in their pursuit of the Paris Saint-Germain winger.
L'Equipe claim the 23-year-old has been in direct contact with Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola and has given his 'verbal agreement' to move to Anfield this summer. That does not amount to a signed contract, but it does make clear Barcola's priority: if the two clubs can find a deal, he wants to be a Red.
PSG, however, are playing hardball. The French champions have slapped a €170 million price tag on the France international, especially after missing out on Yan Diomande - the RB Leipzig winger who was lined up as Barcola's replacement before agreeing to join Real Madrid. Without that exit route, PSG are less inclined to negotiate.
Liverpool are understood to value Barcola closer to €120 million, and the gap between the two sides remains 'significant'. Talks are ongoing, but the Merseyside club have made Barcola their top attacking target following Mohamed Salah's departure.
Arsenal were also in the race but have reportedly shifted focus toward a move for Vinicius Junior, leaving Liverpool as the clear frontrunners. Still, PSG's firm stance could complicate matters unless the Reds are willing to push closer to the asking price.
