Chelsea Agree €25m Pep Chavarria Deal as Victor Osimhen Latest Emerges

Chelsea have reached a full agreement with Rayo Vallecano for Pep Chavarria, with the €25m deal set to make the defender the most expensive sale in Rayo's history. The 28-year-old is already in London to undergo his medical, and the transfer is expected to be officially announced shortly. Chavarria was identified as a priority target by new Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso, and the Blues eventually got their man after weeks of lengthy negotiations - despite being told a move would only happen if they triggered his €50m release clause. There is also movement on Victor Osimhen. Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as the frontrunners for the Galatasaray striker, with Roberto De Zerbi's side confident that personal terms will not be an issue. CaughtOffside report that a fee of just over €75m would be enough to finalise a deal with the Turkish club. Chelsea have been long-term admirers of the Nigeria international, while Atletico Madrid and Manchester United have also been linked - but Spurs currently hold the strongest hand. Joao Pedro's future remains a priority for the Blues, who are ready to hand the Brazilian a new contract running until 2033. The 24-year-old signed a seven-year deal when he arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer, but his eye-catching debut campaign has convinced the club to offer improved terms and an "important" salary increase. Arsenal and Barcelona have both expressed a willingness to pay more than €100m to sign him, yet Chelsea have no intention of selling and are close to formally announcing the extension ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. The academy production line is busy too. Ryan Kavuma-McQueen is the subject of advanced talks between Chelsea and Portsmouth over a season-long loan. The 17-year-old forward scored 13 goals in 26 youth games last season and made his senior debut in the club's 7-0 FA Cup win over Port Vale. Reggie Walsh is also heading out on loan, with the 17-year-old midfielder close to joining Wigan Athletic for the 2026-27 season. Walsh, who signed his first professional contract last year, impressed during Chelsea's pre-season tour of Australia under Alonso. Reece James enjoyed a hugely successful loan spell with the Latics before his senior breakthrough, and Walsh is now close to following the same path despite competition from several other EFL clubs. Finally, Dastan Satpaev has received a strong endorsement from Rafael Urazbakhtin, the head coach of his former club Kairat. Urazbakhtin believes the Kazakhstan striker will eventually take Liam Delap's place in the Chelsea team.
