Chelsea Set £35-40m Price Tag for Liam Delap as Forest, Everton, Leeds Circle

Chelsea are looking to cash in on striker Liam Delap this summer, with the club seeking between €41 million and €46 million (£35 million to £40 million) for the 22-year-old, according to reports. Nottingham Forest, Everton, and Leeds United have all expressed interest in signing Delap ahead of the 2026-27 Premier League season, and all three are aware of Chelsea's asking price as the Blues aim to generate additional revenue from player sales. Chelsea have already brought in over €132 million (£113 million) this window by selling Andrey Santos to Manchester United for €56.3 million (£48 million), Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid for €55 million (£47 million), and Tyrique George to Everton for €21 million (£18 million). A sale of Delap at the quoted range would yield a small profit on the €35 million (£30 million) they paid Ipswich Town last June. Delap struggled in his first season at Stamford Bridge, managing just one Premier League goal in 28 appearances. He had previously scored 12 league goals in 37 outings for Ipswich in 2024-25. Before joining Chelsea, Delap also received offers from Forest, Everton, Manchester United, and Newcastle United. Forest are keen to back new manager Oliver Glasner, who took over on July 6 after leaving Crystal Palace. Everton are in the market for a target man who fits David Moyes' system better than their current options Thierno Barry and Beto, who combined for 18 goals last season but struggle with hold-up play. Leeds want Delap to provide competition for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who scored 14 league goals last term. Meanwhile, Chelsea are close to signing Brighton striker Danny Welbeck on a two-year deal. Brighton have granted the 35-year-old permission to undergo a medical, according to reports. Welbeck scored 13 league goals last season as Brighton finished eighth and qualified for the UEFA Conference League.
