Chelsea Told Rodri Move to Real Could Unlock Camavinga Transfer

Chelsea have learned that Eduardo Camavinga could become available if Real Madrid finalize a move for Manchester City midfielder Rodri this summer, according to reports.
The media reports that Rodri, who captained Spain to World Cup glory and won the Golden Ball, is pushing to join Real Madrid under Jose Mourinho. With just one year left on his City contract, the 28-year-old has long spoken of a desire to return to Spain.
Senior Real officials are said to be backing the deal, with Mourinho keen to add leadership after a fractured dressing room. In May, Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni were involved in an altercation that saw each fined €500,000.
Should Rodri arrive, the Mail understands Real may look to offload players, and Camavinga is among those who could be sold. Chelsea have reportedly considered the France international as a target.
A move would reunite Camavinga with Xabi Alonso, his former Real coach. Alonso was sacked in January, and Camavinga posted a heartfelt Instagram tribute: "Thank you Mister for your work, your passion... I've learned a lot with you."
The 23-year-old, who joined Real from Rennes in 2021, has made 223 appearances, winning two La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues. He has 29 France caps but was left out of the World Cup squad.
Elsewhere, Chelsea saw a €75m (£64m) bid for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott rejected, per sources. Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso's side completed a club-record €138m (£117m) signing of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa on Tuesday.
