Banned Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk faces fresh legal trouble as assets frozen over £5m lawsuit

Mykhailo Mudryk is still dealing with fallout from his doping ban - and now the Chelsea winger has a new legal battle on his hands. Reports from Italian outlet Derbyderbyderby claim the 25-year-old is being sued by JJDS Management Limited for more than £5 million (€6 million) over an alleged breach of image rights. Mudryk reportedly signed a contract with the company when he joined Chelsea in January 2023 but has not paid the agreed share of his advertising and commercial income. The High Court in London has frozen assets worth £2.5 million (€3 million) from Mudryk's bank accounts, according to the report. Some sources add that the Ukrainian's weekly spending has been capped at £5,000 while the investigation continues. Femis Segirov, founder of JJDS Management Limited, told the outlet: "Mudryk's funds are frozen, the assets are blocked. Therefore, we are not concerned if the procedure takes a little longer. The credit has been adequately secured." Mudryk has kept a low profile since being provisionally suspended by the Football Association in December 2024 after testing positive for the banned substance meldonium while on international duty the previous month. He was handed a four-year ban earlier this year, sidelining him until 2028. During his absence from football, the Ukrainian has also been banned from driving and from playing an online video game. He has lodged an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), but no decision has been reached. He is not allowed to train with Chelsea teammates or play competitive matches. Despite the setbacks, Mudryk recently hinted at a possible return through a social media post, and he remains hopeful the ban could be reduced.
