2027 Bosman Watch: The Top Players Nearing Free Agency Next Summer
0
The 2027 summer transfer window is still a year away, but Europe’s biggest clubs are already mapping out their moves for free agents. A host of elite players are currently scheduled to run out of their contracts in 2027, and while some are expected to sign extensions, many could walk away for nothing.
The trend of blockbuster Bosman transfers has only grown stronger in recent years – Kylian Mbappé’s move from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid in 2024 being the most notable example – and the upcoming window promises more of the same. sources takes a look at the most recognizable names in Europe’s top five leagues whose deals expire in 2027.
In the Premier League, Manchester City’s Ballon d’Or winner Rodri leads the list, alongside Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, Liverpool stars Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, and Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus. Others include Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta, Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma, and Tottenham’s Richarlison.
La Liga offers a stunning crop: Real Madrid’s Vinícius Júnior and Thibaut Courtois, Barcelona’s Ferran Torres, and Atlético Madrid’s Marcos Llorente and Nahuel Molina. Serie A features Christian Pulisic (AC Milan), Hakan Çalhanoğlu (Inter), Romelu Lukaku (Napoli), and Kevin De Bruyne (Napoli) – though it remains to be seen if the Belgian stays at the Stadio Maradona.
In Germany, Bayern Munich’s as-yet-unlisted star, plus David Raum, Nico Elvedi, and Marcel Sabitzer, are on notice. Ligue 1’s potential free agents include Fabian Ruiz and Paul Pogba (Monaco) and Ben Chilwell (Strasbourg).
With many of these players still in their prime, next summer could be another frenzy of high-value Bosman deals. Clubs are already circling.
