Mikey Moore deals Rangers transfer blow as McInnes urges Ibrox board to act

Rangers have learned that Mikey Moore will not be heading back to Ibrox, with the teenager setting his sights on a loan move to one of Europe's big five leagues. The 18-year-old was one of the bright spots at Ibrox last season, scoring seven goals in 47 appearances for the Gers and winning the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award. That campaign naturally led to talk of a return to Glasgow, but those hopes appear to be over. According to the London Standard, Moore is ready to overlook Championship side Middlesbrough as he takes the next step in his development. Moore has featured for Tottenham during their pre-season tour of New Zealand and Australia, yet the expectation is that the England U19 star's immediate future lies away from north London. Spurs have been linked with a new winger, with Manchester City's Savinho and Manchester United's Marcus Rashford among the names mentioned. Roberto De Zerbi said: "We have to analyse the last part of the transfer market, because we try to bring wingers, and then we speak with him, with his agent, with the club, to find the best solution for everyone." Rangers, meanwhile, are dealing with their own squad issues after Friday's 1-1 Premiership draw at Dundee United. Manager Derek McInnes made an urgent plea for the board to speed up the club's recruitment. "I know the evidence today would suggest we've still got loads and loads to do, and I get that, but I do think we have got enough to be encouraged about," he said. "But the new signings need to land pretty soon. I need to say that. "Everybody's worked hard to get the right players in, and I appreciate the effort that's been made, but we've got important games, important league games, important European games, and we're just really trying to crank that up to try and get players in the building as quickly as possible." Rangers have been linked with Frosinone winger Fares Ghedjemis, with Celtic also credited with an interest. Before McInnes gets his wish, though, further sales may be required, with Belgium international Nicolas Raskin among those who could depart.
