Five transfers that could be completed this week: Guimarães to Arsenal, Bouaddi to City

The 2026 summer transfer window is ramping up, and clubs are trying to sort their squads well before the new season begins. Three players have already changed clubs for more than €100m this summer - Morgan Rogers, Elliot Anderson and Sandro Tonali - and further high-profile moves are expected in the coming days. Arsenal are pressing ahead with their pursuit of Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimarães. Newcastle have turned down Arsenal's first formal bid, but the Gunners are expected to return with a fresh offer and talks could accelerate quickly. Guimarães does not want to force the move by going on strike, but he is keen on joining Arsenal and personal terms have already been finalized as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his midfield for the 2026-27 campaign. Newcastle are reluctant to lose another key figure after Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon left, yet they may accept if Arsenal match the €93m (£80m) asking price. Como have reached a full agreement to sign Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, and the move is expected to be officially announced this week. The 27-year-old has been in talks with the Serie A club for several weeks, and a package worth an initial €30m has been struck. Chalobah is expected to become a key player for Como as they prepare for their first ever Champions League campaign. Savinho has reportedly told Manchester City he wants to leave for more regular playing time, and Tottenham are again leading the race. Spurs tried to sign the Brazilian last summer, have maintained their interest, and are now pushing to take him to north London. Roberto De Zerbi's side have already added defensive and midfield options and now want to strengthen up front, with Savinho regarded as a top target. PSG are preparing a major burst of activity, with the Champions League winners on the verge of four big deals. Maghnes Akliouche is expected to be the first marquee arrival. A deal is in place with Monaco for €50m after the attacker recorded 18 goal contributions in 43 games in 2025-26. PSG are also in advanced talks with Barcelona for Ferran Torres, with Parma for Zion Suzuki and with Ajax for Mika Godts. Manchester City are leading the race for Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi. City have reached a full verbal agreement with the 18-year-old on personal terms and are now negotiating a transfer fee with Lille. Reports have suggested Bouaddi could cost €100m, but City are pushing to get a deal done. Signing the Morocco international, a breakout star of the 2026 World Cup, would be a major statement, especially with Rodri's long-term future uncertain.
