Transfer Talk: Besiktas push for Gallagher, Arsenal in Torres talks, Liverpool ready Barcola bid
0
Thursday's transfer rumour mill brought a surprise Conor Gallagher twist. Besiktas have made an ambitious loan offer for the Tottenham midfielder, with reports saying manager Vincenzo Italiano is determined to strengthen his midfield and is a big admirer of the Englishman. There is no word yet on how Spurs have responded. Gallagher only joined Tottenham in January and failed to impress last season, and with Spurs spending heavily on midfielders this summer, he could struggle for minutes.
Arsenal are also working on the attacking front. The Gunners have been in contact with the camp of Barcelona forward Ferran Torres as they weigh alternatives after missing out on Vinicius Jr. Torres is one of the players under consideration, and Arsenal are monitoring the World Cup winner's situation with his future uncertain. Torres was heavily linked with PSG earlier this summer, yet it is unclear whether Barcelona want to sell. They need funds to balance the books, but they are already short of forward options.
Liverpool are accelerating their pursuit of PSG winger Bradley Barcola and are readying an opening bid of €115 million. Reports in France expect that offer to be rejected, with PSG wanting significantly more before letting the 23-year-old go, but the bid would move negotiations into a more advanced phase. Arsenal also remain interested, though they are playing catch-up: Liverpool have secured buy-in from the France international while the Gunners were busy courting Vinicius Jr.
Elsewhere, Man City are among the clubs keen on Barcelona midfielder Tommy Marques. Barcelona are confident of doing a deal for Man City star Rodri, and they could sweeten it by sending the 19-year-old to the Etihad, with a loan to Girona likely to follow. Braga are pushing hardest for Marques at the moment, while Borussia Dortmund are also interested; the player wants first-team football and Barcelona would prefer to keep a buy-back clause.
Barcelona are unwilling to meet the €16 million release clause of Racing Santander left-back Jorge Salinas. The teenager wants to join the LaLiga champions, but Racing insist the clause is the only route this summer; it doubled from €8 million to €16 million following their promotion. That has opened the door for Man Utd, who consider Salinas a key alternative to Newcastle's Lewis Hall and are willing to trigger the clause if they get the player's approval.
The rest of the rumour mill: Barcelona will allow Roony Bardghji to leave for regular minutes but want to keep control of his future, according to insider. Brentford striker Igor Thiago is not for sale amid interest from Chelsea, Man Utd and Tottenham. Man City have agreed a deal to sign Marseille goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli, replacing James Trafford after his Leeds move, per Romano. Al-Hilal are reluctant to pay more than €30 million for Barcelona's Marc Casado, who would be open to the move. City are on the verge of finalising a deal for Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi. AC Milan forward Rafael Leao has no interest in Saudi Arabia despite two lucrative offers, reports Nicolo Schira. Real Betis, Real Sociedad and Villarreal are interested in Real Madrid striker Endrick.
