Arsenal are weighing up a sensational move for Tottenham skipper Cristian Romero, with the defender expected to leave Spurs this summer.
Inter have already reached a verbal agreement with Tottenham for a fee in the region of €40m, but they have yet to agree personal terms with Romero. Atletico Madrid are hoping to take advantage of Inter's slow progress and have made the centre-back an active target. insider sources reports that Arsenal have also registered an interest.
Tottenham, however, are said to be unaware of Arsenal's interest and would be unwilling to consider any approach from their bitter rivals.
Liverpool face a crowded race for Paris Saint-Germain youngster Ibrahim Mbaye. The winger has told PSG he wants to leave this summer in search of regular first-team football, with Liverpool emerging as a possible destination. L'Equipe report that more than ten clubs are tracking Mbaye, while PSG have not yet named a price. Liverpool are described as favourites, but Mbaye is open to joining a smaller side if that means more minutes before making a later step up to a bigger club.
Napoli are trying to prise Gabriel Jesus away from Arsenal. The forward is entering the final year of his contract and has been told he can leave if a €20m fee arrives. Talks are at an early stage, with Napoli showing very strong interest and Jesus open to the move. No agreement is in place yet, and the Brazilian is keen to find guaranteed playing time.
Manchester United have been offered Djed Spence. According to Ben Jacobs, the Tottenham player's representatives have offered him to United and Liverpool, among other clubs. United are unlikely to pursue a deal for Hall and are assessing other left-back options. Spence wants to play week in and week out on either flank, but there is no indication United will make a move at this stage.
Elsewhere, Nottingham Forest's move for Ousmane Diomande has collapsed after a disagreement over the asking price, and the defender is set to stay at Sporting. Newcastle are preparing a bid for Felix Nmecha as a replacement for Bruno Guimaraes, though Dortmund would want in excess of €100m. Micky Van De Ven is close to agreeing a new contract with Tottenham. Sasa Lukic is nearing a move from Fulham to Ipswich, with a medical possible this week. Marseille have agreed to sell Facundo Medina to Leverkusen for €25m including add-ons. Thiago Almada has agreed to join River Plate from Atletico Madrid in a deal worth €20m, described as an Argentine record.
